On August 9 The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reporting a total of  54 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the province.

Of those 54 new cases there are 5 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 1 in the Far North East zone, 2 in the North West zone, 12 in the North Central zone, 3 in the North East zone, 12 in the Saskatoon zone, 4 in the Central West zone, 1 in the Central East zone, 4 in the Regina zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 3 in the South East zone.

There are 3 new cases reported in the South West zone - 1 in the South West subzone 1 and 2 in the South West subzone 2.

There are 2 new cases with pending residence information.

Three cases with pending residence information have been assigned as follows - 1 from April 14 to the Regina zone, and 2 from August 6  to the South Central zone.

Two Saskatchewan residents tested out of the province were added to the South East zone (1 from August 4), and pending residence information (1 from August 6).

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 50,614, of which 650 are active.

There are 31 active cases in the South West zone -8 in the South West subzone 1, and 23 in the South West subzone 2.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 71 (5.9 new cases per 100,000 population).

There are no new deaths reported, leaving that provincial total number at 582.

The provincial total number of recoveries is at 49,382.

There are 55 people in the hospital, including 41 inpatient cases and 14 in intensive care.

To date, there have been a total of 974,957 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

Of the 8,373 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome testing in the province, 7,082 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 10 are Beta (B.1.351), 433 are Gamma (P.1), and 848 are Delta (B.1.617.2).

There have been a total of 1,197 COVID-19 vaccines administered yesterday, bringing the total number given to 1,433,757.
