With Christmas only a few days away parents may still be stuck for an idea of what to get their kids for Christmas.

Well, Swift Current Online spoke with Garry Koebel, Owner of Sputtergotch Toys to discuss this year's latest toy trends.

Koebel says a major trend has seen the reintroduction of some classic games.

"Families are really seeking things they can do together. For instance, what we have been seeing an awful lot of here in the last probably month is parents introducing their younger children to classic board games."

Popular games include Trouble, Candyland, Uno, and Aggravation. Koebel adds that these games have been around for decades but perhaps missed a couple of generations as there hasn't been time for them to be played amongst families who are now staying home more.

In reference to another popular trend, Koebel says it's all about being creative this year.

"Parents are also wanting to try and get their kids creativity inspired and learning new skills so for instance art. Learning how to draw, learning how to use different mediums such as oil paints and watercolors."

Koebel adds they are going through a lot of craft kits and things that will keep kids occupied at home but also continue to instill creativity and a sense of accomplishment once they have something made to hang up or give as a gift.

Sputtergotch is open Monday-Saturday from 10 am-5 pm and free in-town delivery is also available.
