Ken Linsley has made the decision to run for city council in this year's municipal election.

"I have been very community involved for many years, and currently I am involved with the chamber of commerce, and I have thought about it the last few years since the last election about looking at taking a seat at city council to shed a different perspective on things and bring my different experience to the table." said Linsley when asked why he decided to run.

Linsley does have experience in a similar role by serving two terms in Gull Lake on town council. "A lot of the things that go on in the town of Gull Lake are not unsimilair to the things that go on here, I think about thing like landfills, utilities, streets, taxation and debt, all of those things are similar in a small town and the city. As well as working with provincial and federal governments on different projects and I bring experience with those things having already done it for 2 years in Gull Lake."

Linsley currently is the Manager of Training and Development for retail business in Canada with Nutrien Ag Solutions, he also is a Chairman of the board with the Swift Current and District Chamber of commerce.

Some concerns that Linsley has that he would like to look at and discuss are access to health care, residential and commercial lots, debt, and taxation.

Linsley also notes that his ultimate goal is transparency and honesty, and if he is asked a question he will not dodge it, and give straight answers.

The election is set to land on November 9.
