If you asked any kid if vegetables for breakfast is a good thing, the reaction you get would be priceless.

That is, in fact, what the Roman Catholic parish of Christ the Redeemer Church is doing.

For several years, the parish has planted a garden just North of the church to grow vegetables, to sell to parish members and the local community.

The funds raised have been given to the school Feed the Children Breakfast Program, which is aimed at making sure no child, goes to school without a breakfast.

An average crop will allow, the parish, to donate $2,300 - $2,500 dollars.

This year’s crop produced 4,000-plus ears of corn, approximately 2.5 tons of potatoes and hundreds of pounds of Beets.
