One of Swift Current's AAA hockey teams will be in action over the upcoming weekend on the road, while the other has had both games shelved.

Wildcats

The Swift Current Innovation Credit Union U18 Female AAA Wildcats will return to league play this evening in the northern part of the province.

For the first time since mid-October, Swift Current will battle the Prince Albert Bears looking to extend their winning streak to three games.

"We have to play as a team," Wildcats forward Samantha Thompson said will be the key to success this weekend. "We move the puck well and skate well, we should end up with two wins."

The pair of teams have split the season series at one apiece, with the Wildcats outscoring the Bears 10-8 in the process.

The Wildcats sit second in the league standings at 12-7 on the season while Prince Albert is fifth in the league at 6-9-1.

They'll play a rematch tomorrow afternoon.

Legionnaires

And the Swift Current Home Hardware U18 AAA Legionnaires will now have the weekend off due to COVID-19 protocol.

They were scheduled to be in Warman tonight playing the league-leading Wildcats and then travel to Saskatoon tomorrow to play the Blazers but both games have been postponed.

The 13-13-1 Legionnaires' next chance to play is next Saturday at home with the Saskatoon Contacts visiting.
