It's a big investment from Ottawa for Swift Current's Windscape Kite Festival.

The event received $12,300 in funding from the Federal government through the Building Communities through Arts and Heritage Program.

Organizer Shann Gowan says the money will go toward paying for some of the Festival's features, such as the Kinetic Wind Sculpture, and some of the local artists they hire for the event.  She adds, this year's event, which goes June 19th and 20th, will have the biggest line-up of kite flyers, entertainment, and activities they've ever had.

The Summer Solstice Festival in Gravelbourg received $9400 in funding from the same program.  That event highlights Francophone, Anglophone, and Metis talent, and will take place June 18th through 20th.
