15 Wing cancels flyby for Swift Current for dedication ceremony
A flyby scheduled by the 15 Wing Moose Jaw for tomorrow afternoon in Swift Current has been shelved. The act was set up as part of the dedication ceremony for rifleman Denis Celestin George Denniel but has been called off due to unforeseen circumstances. Born in Val Marie, Denniel joined the Royal Regina Rifles on June 27, 1940, and participated in WWII. He served with the forces until 1954. He passed away in Swift Current in 1968 and was buried in Mount Pleasant Burial Park with a temporary marker that's been replaced with a proper monument that will be unveiled Friday at 2 p.m.
