Nearly 2300 fans were in attendance in Edmonton last night as the Swift Current Indians won 5-2, claiming the title of WMBL Champs.

Up 2-1 headed into the top of the 9th inning, the Tribe scored back-to-back-to-back RBIs. The runs came on 3 straight singles by Shane Dokey, Alec Humphreys, and Liam Goodall to effectively seal the fate of the game, and the series.

The Towering Texan, Reece Calvert, tossed 5 scoreless innings. Aidan Goodall and Kyle MacDonald combined for 4 innings in relief, giving up 2 runs, with only one of those being earned.

With the game 3 win, the Tribe swept the best-of-5 series. The sweep extended past the series, with Swift Current completing their run of perfection in the playoffs with a 9-0 record.

The Tribe capped off a stellar year after going 33-15 in the regular season, racking up 3 major individual awards, and 7 First Team All-Stars.

As seen in the picture above, the Bantam AA Indians were in attendance to watch a fellow Swift team win. The Bantams are currently at Westerns in St. Albert.
