CP Responds To Collision

A vehicle recently collided with a train in Swift Current with only minor injuries

 

A spokesman for Canadian Pacific Railway says it's up to local and federal governments to act if they feel any rail crossing in Swift Current is unsafe.

But Mike Lovecchio says the collision between an SUV and a train last Friday could have been prevented if the driver was more aware of what was in front of them.

Three people managed to escaped serious injury after hitting a train at an uncontrolled rail crossing on South Railway Street East near Kinetic Exhibition Park.

Lovecchio says if the community is concerned about a crossing, they can apply to Transport Canada for upgrade funding.
