The Shaunavon Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will be holding their Annual Poppy Drive tonight in Shaunavon.

The Legion members, along with volunteers from the community, will be going door to door this evening selling poppies starting at six o'clock.

Charmaine Bernath is a member of the Poppy Committee. She says all money raised goes to help veterans and also goes back into the community. "It's primarily for veterans, like, for providing services and equipment that veterans may use. And we'll be doing a donation to the Courtesy Van and also High School Bursaries."

Bernath adds that last year they gave out three student Bursaries.

After tonight's Poppy Drive, Poppy boxes will be located at various businesses in Shaunavon, Eastend, Frontier, Climax and Bracken and you can get your poppies there.

Bernath reminds residents that the Wreath Campaign is on now as well for Remembrance Day. If you would like to purchase a wreath or a cross you can contact Charmaine.

The Legion would like to thank the southwest for their donations.

Shaunavon residents are asked to please leave their porch lights on this evening when volunteers call at your door.
