Provincial revenues in 2010-11 were stronger than expected, according to the Public Accounts released by the Saskatchewan Government last week.

Finance Minister Ken Krawetz says increases in tax revenue and non-renewable resource revenue as the economy recovered from a recession led to an extra $1.1 billion in revenue.

He says among other things, the stronger revenue helped the province deal with last year's flooding.

Krawetz adds the extra revenue also allowed the province to move forward on investments to third-party capital projects and the Saskatchewan Surgical Initiative.
