A Rural Municipality here in the southwest has been forced to help fund a new entrance to a local cemetery.

The Point View Cemetery, which is located near Ravenscrag, had an agreement with a past landowner dating back to the 1930's that gave people access to the cemetery.

The agreement ended when the property changed hands, but, until now, none of the subsequent landowners ever objected to people accessing the cemetery through the property.

The current landowners, who are under no legal obligation to do so, have decided not to allow access and so the RM of White Valley has already made a new entrance to the cemetery.

People are reminded that they get to the cemetery the same way, however access will be available now from the west instead of the south.

The RM says they will eventually be improving the gateway at the new entrance, which again is from the west.

This change of entrance to the Point View Cemetery is in effect immediately.
