The Salvation Army started preparing for Christmas by helping those in need on Saturday afternoon.
The Kettle Campaign and Christmas Hampers Campaign was held in the Wheatland Mall in the Miracle Room.
Captain Michael Ramsay explains how important the campaign is to the city.
Ramsay adds they are also opening registrations for the 2010 Christmas Hampers, which will be delivered to families in need throughout the community.
Donating is very easy; wherever you see a kettle you can drop money in, or you can drop food or cash donations off at the Salvation Army.
