The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan continued to climb Saturday, as the provincial government reported there were another 499 cases and 397 recoveries. The seven-day average of new cases is now 467, which is 45.9 percent higher than the peak of January this year. The number of active cases is 4,329, which is the highest seen since December 14th of last year. 

There was also one death reported Saturday afternoon. 

Saskatoon continued to have the most cases in the province, with 107 new cases reported yesterday. The North Central region reported 76, 62 in Regina, 59 in the North West, 31 in the Far North East, 26 in the South East, 25 in the South Central and North East, 21 in the Far North West, 12 in the South West, 19 in the Central West, nine in the Central East and one in the Far North Central. 

There were an additional 2,334 first doses of a COVID vaccine administered, and 1,917 second doses. This brings the percentage of people with at least their first dose to 67.8 percent, and with their second dose to 60.7 percent.
