Saturday was a hot one in Saskatchewan, and a number of records were broken across the province as temperatures reached into the low 30s.

Some of the centres that set new marks include Moose Jaw, where the mercury climbed to 33.4°. This eclipses the mark of 32.8° set in 1981. In Humboldt, an even older record was broken, as the daytime high reached 31.1°. The previous mark for that city was 30.6° from 1928.

Saskatoon had a new record of 32.9°, beating the old record of 32.2° from 1966. Regina hit 33.0° Saturday, surpassing the old record of 31.8° and Weyburn reached 33.3°, which was nearly two degrees hotter than the old mark of 31.5°.

With the heat now passing over the province, temperatures are expected to remain slightly above seasonal for much of the week in many parts of the province.
