The first court appearance for two southwest residents involved in an alleged stabbing has resulted in adjournments for both.

Connie Oakes and Ricki Rockthunder are accused of a stabbing that took place on April 5th in Maple Creek.

Both have been charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of forcible confinement and one count of uttering threats.

Oakes, who is from Nekaneet First Nation, is also charged with two counts of breaching conditions.

35-year-old Ricki Rockthunder is additionally charged with one count of breaching conditions.

Judge L.J. Smith ordered a non-contact order between both accused and for a bail verification to be completed.

Both will be remanded in custody until April 19 when they appear in Swift Current Provincial Court.
