D3 Home Design

Design for one of the units

The province, city and local developers are teaming up to bring some affordable new homes to Swift Current. As part of the Head Start on A Home program, D3 Developers is building four buildings of eight apartment style condos on Gladstone Street East. They are getting the support of a local financial institution to draw new home owners to the project.

"And with the Credit Union pitching in, even financing a down payment and that's at prime which is like 3% for 5 years for obviously qualified customers. That just makes it so much more affordable and we believe that will make home ownership more and more prevalent in the city." said President and CEO of D3, Murali Krishnan.

The construction is financed by a loan from the Saskatchewan Immigrant Investor Fund and the city is providing a five year assessment exemption as an incentive. As part of the program the homes have to be at or bellow the average MLS price for the city.
