Morse RCMP had a memorable afternoon last Saturday afternoon.

In the afternoon of February 13, 2021, they responded to a report of a suspicious truck parked outside of the Prairie Centre Credit Union in that town.

The truck had left the area before they arrived, but was later located driving westbound on Highway #1 at Herbert, where they were able to determine that the vehicle had been stolen earlier from Indian Head.

A chase ensued when officers attempted to stop the truck, it fled and was later located north of Rush Lake, stuck.

Members of the "F" Division Roving Traffic Unit arrested the lone male driver and searched both the truck and the surrounding area, coming up with stolen property, a modified firearm and a small quantity of methamphetamine.

29-year-old Thomas Kenneth Chartrand of Regina appeared in Swift Current provincial court on February 17, 2021, on multiple charges including:

Flight from Police, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Theft, and 8 firearms charges.

Chartrand will remain in custody until his next court appearance on March 3, 2021.
