On Saturday, the air cadets will host a dinner and dance in Swift Current to celebrate the squadron’s 60th anniversary.

The gala takes place at the Legion Hall with guest speaker, retired Lt. Col Desmond Brophy, a former CF-18 fighter pilot.

Lt. Jeff Kurtz of the 605 Tarry Squadron Royal Canadian Air Cadets invites the public to celebrate the air cadets in our community.

"It happens to be in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of the Air Cadet League of Canada this year, as well. We were established here in March 1955 in the city. Some of our forefathers saw the need for a youth program like this, so we thought it would be a great opportunity to invite the community and celebrate with us," he said.

The Toon Town Big Band, a 17-piece band from Saskatoon, will provide musical entertainment during the evening, which includes a roast beef supper.  Tickets are available at Pharmasave.
