The University of Saskatchewan is trying to attract more females into science-related careers.

In an effort to build an inclusive work environment for everyone, SaskPower announced last week a thirty-five hundred dollar investment in the 'Girl Power' Summer Science Program at the University of Saskatchewan; as part of the university's Sci-Fi program, four one-week camps are held for girls in grades five to nine, where participants learn about the opportunities that science-related careers can hold.

Through the 'Girl Power' Summer Science program, participants work on special projects, go on tours and interact with female mentors; SaskPower hopes the investment will increase the number of female engineers in the province.  The investment is part of SaskPower's diversity strategy, to build an inclusive work environment for everyone.
