The Municipal Boundary Committee has rejected the City of Swift Current's annexation application to alter the boundaries of the city.

In their decision, the Committee stated that the lands west of the current city boundary, including the highway commercial parcels, and the lands northeast of the boundary, would be approved.  The area including the Research Station (SPARC) was rejected.

The Committee says it was not possible to approve the matter in part, so the entire application was rejected.

The City will reapply to alter its boundaries in one year's time.
