Daytime highs for Swift Current could reach ten degrees above seasonal norms this week.

Tomorrow’s projected high of +22 C comes as a shock to residents — and even meteorologists.

Environment and Climate Change Canada meteorologist Stephen Berg said a ridge of high pressure coming in from the west is causing the anomaly.

“[The forecast] is pretty toasty for this time of year,” he said. “It looks like the above seasonal temperatures last until the weekend.”

Over the next couple of days, the southwest could also receive some precipitation.

While it’s unknown just how much rain could be headed for Swift Current, the five-day forecast expects moisture to arrive tomorrow night and stick around through Thursday.
