Due to an increase in volume, the local aquatic center has implemented a new admission policy.

Aquatic Superintendent for the city, Natasha Pardo explains.

"The new admission policy is focused on children, adults and youth. What we have done is we have implemented a wristband policy. Orange wristbands are for children ages six years and younger which means that it is a warning sign that they need to be within arms reach in the water with a parent and or guardian."

Yellow bands will exist for those aged 7-14 that can swim alone but not in the deep end as they have not passed their swim test and and green bands mean that they have passed their swim test and can be anywhere in facility alone.

The wristband policy has now been implemented in order to ensure safety as Pardo explains.

"Swift Current is growing. We are getting a lot more people and volume then what has been the normal. It was a way to help the guards see who needs to be with who and to also ensure a higher level of safety in the water."
