The Swift Current Broncos suffered their sixth loss of the season to Brandon last night in front of a good crowd at the Credit Union iplex.

Brandon jumped out of the gates and took advantage of a flat home team as they built a 3-0 lead after the first period.

The Broncos fought back on a second period goal from Michael Stickland, and then an early third period goal from Geordie Wudrick to pull close.

The turning point was a failed 5-on-3 powerplay late in the third period as the Broncos failed to generate one quality chance on the 1:28 two-man advantage.

Assistant Coach Tim Kehler was frustrated with their PP unit.  "It was disappointing to see the decisions that were made in a critical situation.  Obviously, it's a high-pressure environment for those five guys who go out and are asked to execute.  They know it's a key part in the game and our chance to tie things up.  But, you have to take the creativity out of it.  Particularly on the 5-on-3, there's a very, very disciplined structure that you need to play with that's going to be effective.  It works like Novocaine, it takes a little bit of time but it's going to work...every time.  If you share the puck around, if you have crisp puck movement, and you play within the structure that was drawn up, you're going to get those golden opportunities."

The Broncos host the Kootenay Ice on Friday night in their next contest.
