A former Saskatoon teacher, and southwest Saskatchewan native, was released yesterday on $2,000 bail following a hearing over child pornography charges in Saskatoon provincial court.

Earlier this winter (on December 9, 2016) Rhett Jeffrey Lundgren, was originally released on consent after being charged with two counts of arranging to commit a sexual offense against a child and attempting to access child pornography.

The 39-year-old teacher, currently suspended, was arrested again last week after being accused of breaching his initial release conditions from December 9th.

He reportedly breached the original release conditions by being alone with a child under the age of 16 and not living at an approved residence, that was ordered by the court.

A ban on publication was ordered at the bail hearing yesterday and preventing any reporting of details.

One of his bail conditions is for Lundgren to live with his father. Another one of the conditions requires another adult to be present during Lundgren's visitations with his daughter.

His next appearance in court is set for March.

Lundgren’s initial arrest on December 8, 2016, was after police seized a computer in his possession that reportedly had child pornography on it.

The former Walter Murray Collegiate teacher also faces separate charges from Alberta police that include child luring and sexual exploitation. Police said the allegations involve a student who attended a school where Lundgren used to teach in 2009, but the incident was only recently brought to the attention of police.
