Seniors in Swift Current are invited to take part in two special forums to discuss issues senior citizens face on a day-to-day basis in the community - tonight and tomorrow afternoon.

Tonight's Being Senior forum at the Swift Current Museum starts at 6 pm. A second forum will be held tomorrow at 4 pm  in the meeting room of the Pioneer Co-op Wheatland Mall.

"Part of it is listening but the second part of is also acting on what we here," said Michael Boutilier, Communications and Stakeholder Relations Coordinator for Swift Current.

This first series will be focused on Transportation & Accessibility, with presentations and discussion groups taking place over approximately one hour.  Refreshments will be provided by the Pioneer Co-op for each event.

"We really appreciate seniors who have come out and are giving their time to collaborate with us and discuss issues and concerns," Boutilier said.

The Being Senior initiative has been established through a collaborative partnership between the City and advisory members from the Cypress Health Region, the Saskatchewan Abilities Council, Riverview Village Estates and local volunteer, Betty McDougall.
