A rough sport has proven to have a soft side.

"Smash Vegas" of the Redneck Betties says the roller derby team and other members of the community came together to help visiting players who had their windshields smashed overnight after Saturday's match. The derby team paid for the windshield to be replaced while Paul Wong worked on his day off to replace it and Boston Pizza offered the visitors free food.

"Smash Vegas" was also very excited about the support for their match on Saturday. It was another sell out at the Credit Union iPlex with 1000 fans in attendance.

The Betties stayed competitive with the veteran "Deathbridge" team losing by only 10.

Police are still investigating the vandalism to the vehicles and arrested at 25 year old man in connection with vandalism to the men's washroom during the event.
