Bicyclist Killed by Motor Vehicle Collision

RCMP responded to the scene of a fatal accident yesterday morning.

At around 9am, Assiniboia RCMP were called to the scene of a collision involving a bicyclist and a vehicle on Highway #43, just three kilometers west of Mazenod, SK.

Initial investigation revealed that a man travelling eastbound in a delivery truck struck a woman travelling the same direction on the highway. The 38-year-old woman from Mossbank was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure, and RCMP Spokesperson, Mandy Maier says it is too soon to know what kind of charges will be laid at this time. "It's too early to tell at this point, and the Swift Current RCMP re-constructionist will take all of the factors into consideration when they do their investigation."
