This month, Wessner became the Sakatchewan liason officer for the Commissioner of Official Languages, which is a federal government job that protects and promotes the French language and the various French communities in the province.

Wessener says that her job includes; carry out promotion, education, out reach and research activities. In addition to recieving complaints and insuring that investigators follow up on complaints as well.

Francophones account for about 2 per cent of Saskatchewan's total population.
