blooddonations

Canadian Blood Services will be holding a blood donor clinic in Swift Current over the next two days.

Today and tomorrow the public is encouraged to come out and donate blood to ensure there are enough units for the organization come September long weekend.

Associate Director of Donor Relations for Alberta and Saskatchewan, Judy Jones, says although they are booked for today, they do encourage appointments for tomorrow's clinic.

"You can book your own appointment with our GiveBlood app, or you can go online and book your appointment. We do have our appointments booked, but what we'd like to do is make sure if you can't make your appointment make sure you call us in advance to cancel it, and then we can get another donor in to fill that spot," she said. "If you do have an appointment make sure that you do come to it and ensure that we have the units for the patients in the hospital. The Monday may not work for you, but the Tuesday we are available as well. There are 39 spots open there, so you can definitely book your appointment then."

The blood donor clinics will run from 2pm to 8pm at Bridgeway Community Church.
