This summer, a centennial celebration will be held at the Blumenfeld Heritage site, as the church of Saints Peter and Paul turns 100.

The site, which is located 16km south and 6km east of Leader has been home to the church for the last century.

The event will run on June 28th, and according to Deacon Bob Williston, with church being 100 years old, all of the proceeds from the celebration will be used to help restore the church.

"We need a new roof, we need some new windows, and we're even looking to possibly to putting an elevator  in the church to get people up, because their are quite a few steps into the church".

The day of activities will begin at 10:00am with with registration, as well as chirldren's activities, there will also be a blessing of the cemetery, reconciliation, a parade of banners and rosary throughout the day.

Mass will then take place at 3:30 and followed by supper at 5:00.

Registration for the centennial celebration is open now, and will run until May 15.
