The Swift Current Broncos announced today that defenceman Carter Spenst has been reassigned to his CSSHL team.

Spenst is headed back to Northern Alberta X-Treme Prep's Midget team, after suiting up in just four games with the Broncos.

"We've got a surplus of guys on the back end, (and) he needs to play games," said Broncos Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Dean Brockman. "For us right now, he can't get into the lineup. In order to improve and get to the point where we want him as a player, he needs to play and get more experience."

Through his four-game stint this season, Spenst was held off the stat sheet while earning two penalty-minutes and a minus-four rating.

With Spenst now back at Northern Alberta X-Treme, Brockman's hopes are that speed can get developed into an asset.

"We need to get his feet going a little bit quicker - the game's pretty fast," he noted. "We love him as a person - he's a great kid, he makes good decisions, he's always talking and trying to get better. He just needs to get his feet moving a lot faster."

In 29 regular season games, and five playoff contests last year with the X-Treme, Spenst recorded four goals and 16 points.

Meanwhile, the Broncos are back on home ice tonight, looking to try and snap a seven-game losing streak.
