The Swift Current Broncos added another prospect to the fold yesterday afternoon.

In an email statement to media, they announced that they had inked 2005-born goaltender Joey Rocha to a standard WHL player agreement.

The Nanaimo, B.C. native was drafted in the fifth round, 109th overall in the 2020 WHL draft after spending the 2019-20 season with the North Island Silvertips U15 AAA program.

He posted an 8-7-0 record with a 3.35 goals-against average that season. He saw action with the Silvertips in two exhibition games earlier this season, winning both and giving up 3 goals.

Broncos Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Dean Brockman talked about the potential in the 6'2" Rocha.

"He’s a big guy who’s pretty calm and poised in net. We feel the upside for him is tremendous."
