It's something Team Canada hasn't had in close to four years: a loss at the World Juniors.

Sweden edged Canada 4-3 yesterday, handing Canada its first loss at the IIHF World Junior Championship since the Gold Medal final in 2004 against the USA.  That turned out to be a 20-game span.

Claude Giroux, Brad Marchand, and Shawn Matthias scored for Canada, while Jonathon Bernier made 28 saves.

The Swedes' goals were scored by Eric Moe, Tony Lagerstrom, Oscar Moller, and Tobias Forsberg picked up the game-winner with just seven seconds left in regulation.

The loss drops Canada to 2-1 in the tournament.  They will face Denmark in the last round-robin game tomorrow.

A win over the Danes and a Czech victory over Sweden tomorrow by five goals or less will give Canada a bye to the semi-finals.
