The Saskatchewan government came out with its framework for cannabis today, and there are a few things that stand out.

Because of public health concerns, consumption will be prohibited in public places.

Minors with possession of under five grams of marijuana will have it ticketed and seized; over five grams will be a criminal offence under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The minimum age for consumption is 19.

The province is going with the federal government's minimum of four plants permitted to be produced per household.

Proposals to be a retailer are being accepted until April 10, but proposals for wholesale permits aren't going to be taken until April.

Initially marijuana was going to be legalized across the country on Canada Day, but while the date is up in the air, it won't be that soon anymore.
