The Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced a partnership on Friday with the CBC to televise their summer series.

The tournament, one of the first sports to confirm its return-to-play format, kicks off on July 25th and will be the first live professional sports action on television since the COVID-19 outbreak in March.

The seven-team league will gather in St. Catharines, Ontario for a 26-game tournament that will culminate on August 9 with the crowing of the championship.

CBC Sports has announced that they will live stream all 26 games and broadcast 7 of them including the opening day double-header match-ups.

The CEBL, which boasts the highest percentage of Canadian players of any professional league in the country, typically runs from May through August but was delayed in mid-April due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The current defending champions are the Saskatchewan Rattlers, based out of Saskatoon. They won the CEBL championship in their inaugural season in the league.
