Operations are being moved out of Moose Jaw's historic Court House after the ceiling collapsed over the weekend.

The Court House was closed after a maintenance worker saw what appeared to be sagging on the ceiling, and a structural engineer was scheduled to take a look at the ceiling on Monday. However, Saturday morning, the Ceiling collapsed causing the water pipes to burst and the building to flood.

The Moose Jaw Police Service are estimating damage at around a million dollars, and the cause of the collapse is being investigated.

The Court House, located on Ominica Street West in Moose Jaw's downtown, was built in the 1900s, and was designated as an Historic Site in 1981. It currently only houses Court of Queen's Bench Cases, with the Provincial Court House situated in the newer W. G. Davies Building on the same street.
