Centennial Store 2

Swift Current's Centennial year is well underway, and there is a new way for residents to take part in the city's 100th anniversary celebrations.

The Centennial Committee, Museum and Art Gallery have opened up a new centennial storefront display at the Swift Current Mall featuring Centennial displays and photographs from January's Extravaganza event that showcase the city's last 100 years.

Swift Current Museum Director Lloyd Begley says, "These photographs and these exhibits will be up until the first week of June and then they'll go to the Ag & Ex in time for Frontier Days, culminating from June 26th until the 29th."

The storefront display opened up this week at Swift Current Mall and has a seated area where you can have coffee and share your stories about the city.

"Everything that was on exhibit in January at the kickoff event for the Centennial is now on display, but it also provides an opportunity for us to invite folks in the community to come in and reminisce and to talk about some of the stories that they're familiar with in the community."

Souvenirs include Centennial hoodies and t-shirts and DVDs of January's Centennial Extravaganza, which will be on sale for $10 each.
