Fans, business leaders, and the Swift Current Broncos themselves were gathered at the InnovationPlex yesterday.

The Chamber on Ice event, hosted by the Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce and the Swift Current Broncos, saw dozens of die-hard fans and community members come out to experience a unique insight into the team.

Running the show on the Chamber side of the event was Karla Wiens, the CEO of the Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce. She was able to enjoy the atmosphere of team spirit brought by the Broncos, and the air of support from the fans.

"We are thrilled to be hosting most of the entire player roster here this evening," said Wiens. "As well as a lot of board directors from the Broncos, business leaders, and interested fans."

Together, they were able to take a tour of the locker rooms at the InnovationPlex, which are set to be renovated shortly.

Another perk of attending the big event was the one-day-only playoff hockey luxury box rentals that were made available to these attendees.

And of course, the biggest highlight of the evening was the raffle draw for a signed Conor Geekie jersey.

"We just want to get some of the community out to meet some of these young men and support our local Bronco team," said Wiens.

On the Broncos side of the evening, helping to organize and orchestrate the event was Adam Filmon, manager of hockey analytics and business operations for the Swift Current Broncos. He was amongst other staff at the event, mixing with and answering questions from members of the general public in attendance.

It's the support of the fans during events like these, where they take time to come out on a non-game day function, that shows that extra Broncos spirit that makes his job all the more worth it.

"This is a small market, community-owned team," stated Filmon. "So we rely heavily on fan support and the business community. Any support we can get, we're extremely thankful for. We want them to be able to take part in events like this and meet the guys and spend time with the players that they support and cheer for."
