Each year, thousands of Canadian children are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, and the Children's Wish Foundation works tirelessly to grant wishes to these children and their families.
A special cheque presentation was made at the Shaunavon Seniors Centre this past Friday in honour of a Shaunavon couple who wanted to help children receive their wishes.
Mable and Percy Young gifted over $52,000 of their estate to the Children's Wish Foundation with the request that the funds be used to benefit Saskatchewan children.
Carla Loney-Tindall, Chapter Director for the Children's Wish Foundation, says an estate gift like that is amazing.
There have been 18 wishes granted in the southwest area alone.
