The Chinook School Board was pleased with a recent maintenance report that indicated twenty-nine of the thirty schools in the division have been upgraded since 2005.

Full Interview with Liam Choo-Foo"The maintenance department had over 2,500 work orders from our various buildings and they were able to complete almost 2,100 of those and the others are being handled this fall," said School Board Director Liam Choo-Foo. "We also were quite pleased to see that change in policy from the board around playground structures has resulted in upgrades at seven different sites within Chinook."

The upgrades are not by accident, as the school board made a calculated effort to improve buildings after becoming a School Board in 2005.

"The maintenance went to all of the facilities so we could get a baseline rating as to where they were all at and on this scale out of 100 each school got it's initial mark and then the goal is to get them all up over 80% over time," added Choo-Foo.

Their facilities maintenance report indicated they reached the 80 percent goal.
