The Chinook School Division is raising concerns about funding.

The Board met with MLAs Lyle Stewart and Wayne Elhard earlier this month to discuss possible effects that the provincial budget may have on education.

There have been indications that the government will reduce or freeze spending to government Ministries in the upcoming budget.

The Board says, if the government provides the School Division with the same amount of revenue as last year, it will mean a $2.2 million revenue shortfall.  They add, that could result in a loss of 25 staff positions, and a reduction of services for students and communities.
