A new school year is coming up and the Ministry of Education has put forth their initiatives for the 2012/13 year and it's clear that student achievement is the number one priority.

Interview with Liam Foo-Choo "That just fits right in line with how we feel here in Chinook," said Director of Education for the Chinook School Board Liam Choo-Foo. "I think the efforts we made over the last 4 years to improve our balance literacy scores and now our math momentum really make us feel good about being in that alignment with what the provincial priority is."

Choo-Foo added math and literacy are the key areas that the Ministry is focusing on when it comes to student achievement.

Schools in Swift Current open September 4th, with registration coming on August 29th.
