The Cypress Health Region continues to mark National Non-Smoking Week in the southwest.

Tobacco Cessation Co-ordinator Barb Lindsay says there are many health benefits that come from quitting smoking.  They include decreasing your chances of developing a chronic medical condition, having more energy, improved health and quality of life, and the people around you will no longer be exposed to second-hand smoke.

Lindsay says the Health Region promotes the week every year because they care about the health of residents, and they also want to protect people from the harmful effects of second-hand smoke.
