The City of Swift Current is continuing their efforts to eliminate the rodent issue in the city.

Director of Engineering Mac Forster says the number of rats at the landfill have decreased substantially.

Baits at the landfill have also been changed to help make it more appealing to the rodents.

Forster adds that they are receiving fewer calls of rat sightings, and they are needing less assistance from the pest control officers.

The landfill will return to regular hours on October 1st with tipping fees for residential solid waste to resume on Saturday, October 17th.
