newcitywebsite
The new citysc.ca was unveiled at Council Chambers in Swift Current City Hall Wednesday

There's a new place to go online if you're thinking about making your new home in Swift Current.

The city launched a new website for newcomers on Wednesday, which has information, photos, maps and answers to questions for newcomers and immigrants coming to Swift Current, as well as an events calendar and a news blog.

"It's also a resource for finding employment in and around Swift Current and has frequently asked questions to newcomers to Swift Current," said John Statton, the Communications/Grant Co-ordinator for the city. "We also have some information just for people who've never been to Swift Current as well as some photos to show what Swift Current looks like."

Statton adds the website is made possible with some support from the Saskatchewan government.

"The City applied for two rounds of funding from the Ministry of the Economy, and it was two rounds of $15,000," he said. "We were successful in both applications, and the funding went towards building this website, as well as hiring a consultant to fill it out with information that might be important for newcomers and immigrants to Swift Current."

Statton says the new website at citysc.ca is a supplement to the city's current website at swiftcurrent.ca, which he says is currently undergoing a full re-design and will be re-launched in about six months.
