An expected rate increase for Swift Current City Light and Power will be on the top of tonight's city council agenda.

The local utility is likely to boost their rates following SaskPower's 4.5% rate increase that took effect at the start of this month. The city buys electricity from the Crown Corporation and resells it to Light and Power customers.

A report on the increase will be reviewed by council tonight at their regular meeting, along with a few other reports and bylaws . The meeting starts at 6:30 in council chambers.
