Swift Current's airport will be receiving a purchase to update equipment.

The City purchased a new snowblower for the airport from Falcon Equipment Limited in Surry, British Columbia for $139.721. The new 2020 Larue D40 will replace the 1994 RPM Tech snow blower that is currently in use.

Kathy Hopfner, the general manager of corporate services, said they decided to purchase the unit as it met or exceeded all aspects of the tender requirements.

The snowblower comes with a one-year full warranty and a five-year 3500-hour warranty on the engine.

The 2019 Captial Budget originally approved $130,000 for the replacement of the snowblower. The additional funds for the purchase will be allocated from the chargeable equipment replacement fund reserve.
