Coburn Hockey School

It's been a busy week of hockey for area youngsters as Shaunavon native Braydon Coburn returned to host the first ever Braydon Coburn Hockey School at the Crescent Point Wickenheiser Centre.

The week will finish up on Saturday with a golf tournament at the Rock Creek Golf and Country Club and a Banquet and Auction.

"Just looking forward to having Braydon come back home," said Chuck Gartner is the Chair of the Events Committee for the weekend. "It's very exciting for the kids and looking forward to everybody enjoying th events.

Coburn doesn't expect his golf game will be all that sharp.

"It's a little rusty," Coburn noted. "I haven't been able to get out much this year... we have an eight month old baby girl that keeps us pretty busy."

He knows the response to the auction will be strong as usual.

"I think anytime you have something like this, especially in Shaunavon, there's a ton of businesses, a ton of people that donate their time in efforts to make these things successful."

All proceeds raised from the event will be directed to the Rock Creek Golf and Country Club and the Shaunavon Wellness and Leisure Committee for enhancement of community projects in parks and recreation.
