The ground game once again ran an opponent off of Colts Field on Saturday.

Playing host the Estevan Elecs in league quarter-final action, the Swift Current Comp. Colts ran away with a 57-0 victory.

As they have all season, the Colts rode their star running back Tristan Lockman, who ran for 125 yards on 16 carries before being removed in the second half.

Despite taking Lockman out of the game after scoring two touchdowns, the Colts running depth shone through.

Parker Strojwas entered the game and picked up right where Lockman left off, carrying the ball 13 times for 127 yards and 3 touchdowns.

"Tristan was as good as he has been all year in the first half before we made the decision to get him out at halftime and let a couple of other guys run the football," said Colts Head Coach Derek Murdoch.

"Strojwas did a great job and ended up with more rushing yards than Tristan did, which was nice to see. He is a guy that will probably have to step up and carry some of the load Tristan had next year. We were able to spread the ball around and getting all of the young guys in for some experience was big for our program."

The Colts scored early and often in their quarter-final contest against Estevan.

Swift Current jumped out to a 14-0 lead after one quarter, before extending the lead to 35-0 at the half.

"We talked about going out and having a good start and we were able to get that start we were looking for," said Murdoch.

"Our defense got a quick two-and-out and we got the ball in great field position and scored right away. After we got that first touchdown, things just kept clicking and we didn't look back."

The Colts will now turn their attention to the league semi-final, which they will host on Saturday when the Yorkton Regional Raiders come to Colts Field.

The two teams met back in the opening week of the season, and the Colts downed the Raiders 40-6.

However, Murdoch is not expecting the score to be that lopsided the second time around.

"We are going to see a Yorkton team that is better, but I did say to the guys, we are better too," he said.

"We will have a pretty good idea of what their gameplan is going to be, they are going to try and throw the football around. They have grade 10 quarterback who is a pretty athletic dude so he is going to be chucking it all over the place, so we will do our best to make it hard on him."

Kick-off for Saturday's semi-final is scheduled for 1:00pm.
